Composite veneer aftercare

A complete guide to maintaining composite veneers, from daily hygiene to regular polishing.

To help your composite veneers last longer and retain their appearance, follow these recommendations:

The first 24 hours

  • Limit staining foods and drinks such as tea, coffee, soft drinks and saffron, and limit smoking.

Everyday use

  • Avoid biting into very hard foods.
  • Do not crack ice, hard rice crust, seeds or candy with veneered teeth.
  • Do not use your teeth to open lids or packaging.

Oral hygiene

  • Brush at least twice daily with a soft toothbrush.
  • Remember to floss.
  • Alcohol-free mouthwash is a better choice.

Preventing discoloration

  • Heavy consumption of coffee, tea and tobacco can discolor composite material.
  • Rinse your mouth with water after consuming staining products.

If you grind your teeth

  • Wear a night guard to help prevent chipping and fractures.

Regular dental visits

  • Visit your dentist every 6 months for a check-up and polishing to keep your veneers healthy and shiny.

With proper care, composite veneers can keep your smile beautiful for years.
